During the Nucleus set up process, you will be prompted to set up Alexa. Follow these steps to set it up:
- Tap Sign in with Amazon.
- Enter the email address and password you use to sign into Amazon.com. Tap the white arrow in the green circle to proceed.
- Confirm that you wish to connect the device to Amazon by tapping the yellow button on the next screen.
- Some basic commands will be shown. Tap Next.
- Now some instructions will be displayed. Tap Done.
If you skipped Alexa setup during Nucleus setup, you can always turn it on from Nucleus settings:
- Tap on the gear icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Tap Amazon Alexa.
Tap Done in the upper right corner to return to Settings, then the X in the upper left corner to return to the home screen.
Once Alexa is set up, the next step is to download and install the Amazon Alexa App to your mobile device. This will allow you to set your location for accurate time, weather, and other local features.
Note: Don't log into the Alexa app until you've logged into Alexa on the Nucleus device. The app may prompt you to set up one of Amazon's devices and not let you through.
To set your location in the Alexa App:
- In the Alexa app, open the left navigation panel, and then select Settings.
- Select your Nucleus from the list. If you have more than one, they'll be listed by the order you set them up in ("2nd nucleus," etc.).
- In the Device location section, select Edit.
- Enter the complete address, including the street name, city, state, and ZIP code.
- Select Save.
If you have multiple Nucleus Intercoms on your Amazon account, make sure to update the location for each device.
