Check In enables you to look in on a room without calling it. It allows you to see a one-way video and audio feed from the Nucleus you choose to call. You can use it to keep an eye on loved ones, or get a quick look at what's happening in a part of your home!
Enabling Check In
Before you can use Check In it must be enabled on the device you wish to monitor. Only the family admin can enable this feature. To turn on Check In:
- Tap Settings on the Nucleus you wish to enable, then Device Settings.
- Tap Check In Mode. Enter your admin password when prompted.
- Tap the switch under the text so it turns green.
- Tap the back arrow in the upper-left corner twice to return to Settings, then the X to return to the Home screen.
Check In is now enabled on that Nucleus. You'll see this noted on the Home screen next to the Room Name:
As the text on the Settings page notes, Check In bypasses Privacy and Do Not Disturb. Devices in those status will still handle incoming calls in the same fashion, but Check In will always go through, regardless of status.
Using Check In
You can check in on an enabled Nucleus from another Nucleus or the mobile app. A button for Check In will appear on the contacts where available:
Tap that button to instantly look in on that room.
While viewing, you can tap Night Vision in the upper-right corner to manually enable Night Vision. If automatic Night Vision is enabled on the device it will still come on automatically in the right conditions. You'll also see the temperature and humidity level in that area, along with a volume control on screen. To end Check In, tap the X at the bottom of the screen.
The device being checked in on will display a screen showing which device is checking in, and the center LED will light up green. Check In can be cancelled on that device by tapping the X at the bottom of the screen as well.
