When a call starts, the Nucleus camera checks the light level in the room. If there isn't much light, or if the room is completely dark, Night Vision mode will kick in. The infrared LEDs below the camera turn on, and the infrared filter engages with an audible click. That Nucleus will then send filtered video in black and white to the device it's communicating with.
Once engaged, Night Vision will stay on for the duration of the call. Ending the call, adjusting the room lighting, and starting the call again should return things to normal. You can also disable Night Vision all together from Settings.
To disable Night Vision from turning on automatically:
- Tap Settings, then Device Settings.
- Tap the switch next to Automatic Night Vision.
Night Vision will now no longer automatically turn on in low- or no-light rooms. Make sure to disable this feature on the Nucleus in the room sending the Night Vision image, not the one you're receiving it on.
